Dr. Brett Laven is a fellowship-trained urologist with experience and certification in the state-of-the-art techniques of da Vinci Surgical Systems for robotic surgery. He is a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent his general surgery residency, as well as his urology residency, at the University of Chicago in his native state of Illinois. He completed a fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic surgery at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr. Laven has special interest in the areas of urinary stone disease, prostate/urinary cancers and benign prostatic hyperplasia. He has done extensive research on male nutrition and its connection to prostate cancer, particularly the connection with Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.
