Dr. Elliott Silbar is a third generation urologist, a Milwaukee native, and has been in practice since 1986. He completed medical school and his urology residency at the University of Cincinnati.
First and foremost Dr. Silbar is a general urologist. He has the expertise and experience to treat almost all urological conditions. However, he does have several areas of special interest and expertise including urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction and female pelvic prolapse. He has been a leader in introducing many new minimally-invasive techniques and procedures into the community including pelvic neuromodulation (Interstim), Botox for overactive bladder, and male and female sling procedures for stress incontinence.
He takes great pride in helping his patients understand their urological conditions and being able to offer them state-of-the-art techniques and treatments. He believes a well-informed patient can be a more active participant in their health care decision making. Dr. Silbar also has been active in conducting numerous educational seminars for his fellow physicians, resident physicians and the general community on a variety of topics over the years including: prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis and male sexual dysfunction.
Though he is an accomplished urologist, he never forgets the person behind the medical condition, and grounds his philosophy on the healing powers of kindness and positive thinking, mixed with a touch of humor.
